Do you know that Justice James Omo-Agege, Justice of the Benin High court ( as he then was) and the father of the new deputy senate Senator Omo Agege was the one that sentenced the famous celebrity Armed robber Anini to death by firing squad in 1986?
For those who don’t know who Anini is, Lawrence Nomanyagbon Anini (1960 – March 29, 1987) was a Nigerian celebrity armed robber who terrorised Benin City in the 1980s along with his sidekick Monday Osunbor.
He held the whole nation spell bound as he terrorized Benin residents.
He was later captured, sentenced to death by the father of the new deputy senate president and executed for his crimes by firing squad on March 29, 1987.

His late father who died in 2016 must have been proud of the milestone accomplished by his son today though he might not have approved his son stealing the National Assembly mace, a criminal act that brought him to national prominence last year.
Congratulations to him and to the other principal officers of the National Assembly elected today.
