'America's Got Talent 2016' Update: Dorothy Williams, 90, gets Golden Buzzer [VIDEO]

A widow from Hawaii proves that people of all ages can reach their dreams

On July 5, 90-year-old woman Dorothy Williams amazed the audience of "America's Got Talent 2016" with a burlesque performance. She was given a standing ovation and the Golden Buzzer, granting her a position in the semi-finals. 

Before she performed, Dorothy greeted everyone with an "Aloha." She told the judges that she was a widow from Hilo, Hawaii. The 90-year-old told AGT judge Simon Cowell that she was going to "dance." What followed after was something the entire crowd did not expect. 

Dorothy began moving in a slow and sensual motion. She then threw her feathered boa then slid out of her skirt. Heidi Klum could not contain her reaction when she saw the aged auditionee take off her sequined top and reveal a pair of tassels. The cheering from the viewers intensified as she spun them around. At the end of her performance, she was given a massive round of applause.

"You're a star baby!" Nick Cannon, "America's Got Talent" host, cheered from backstage. "You're 90 years old, good for you," said former Spice Girls member Mel B. Heidi said that she "absolutely love" Dorothy and that she put the judge in a "really good mood." Simon said that he found the Hawaiian woman "fascinating" and joked that he wished the song was longer to "see where this is gonna end up." Howie Mandell commented that Dorothy was "a great example." 

Nick then walked on stage and congratulated Dorothy. He proclaimed that "a star is born tonight" before he went to the judges' table and pressed the Golden buzzer himself. 

"When I get on that stage, I want to prove that you're never too old to follow your dreams," Dorothy said in an offstage footage. Nick also said that she wanted to be a star "in a moment like this."
